In the west of Argentina the Andes mountains offer great outdoor opportunities: hiking, skiing and much more. The central region of Argentina is mostly the rich plain known as La Pampa. There is jungle in the extreme northern areas, especially on the east. Patagonia, the far south of Argentina is a rugged and cold land.
