While I have never been to the other AIs on the list, the beauty of Sunset at the Palms in Negril is that you don’t FEEL so much like you’re in an AI because of the “treehouse” accommodations. It’s a great place for R&R and is one of the few reasonably priced options in the area. They are also Green Globe certified, so it qualifies as an eco-tourism resort.. The food is also great!

  2. I live in Florida and people think that with all the great Miami golf resorts right around the corner, we never want to take a vacation. But I want to take my wife to Jamaica. It’s no fun staying in the same place all the time. Thanks for the great tips on resorts and especially the above comment on the green globe certification.

Just wanted to ask what has happened to the Grande Lido San Soucie all inclusive resort? I was married there in October of 2000, and it was wonderful. We had a beach front suite, and it was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The food was great and available 24 hrs, the liquor flowed everywhere and the beaches were gorgeous. We want to go back for our 15th anniversary (or before it) and cannot find it. We were hoping it still exists or has been taken over by someone else but is still there. If anyone has this info it would be much appreciated.

  4. Jamaican resorts are extensively beautiful and luxurious and my personal favorite is sunset at the Palms Resort Negril. As a traveler, I have always loved to visit the Caribbean island and the villas and resorts there equally fascinate me as the beaches do.
