The largest national park in Thailand, Khao Sok National Park is located towards the south of the country and is famous for playing host to a whole range of natural wonders. There is an abundance of different landscapes. Explore thick rainforests, pinnacle-like limestone karst formations, and the vast, human-made lake of Cheow Lan.
You’ll be delighted with the rare, exotic species of flora and fauna – like hornbills and the giant Rafflesia plant; this place is like the garden of Eden.
Strangely enough, far from being completely remote, it’s relatively easy to reach and stay in the area of Khao Sok National Park. From jungle huts located along the banks of the Sok River to floating accommodation on Cheow Lan Lake – as well as a whole lot more – the Khao Sok bus stop will be your first port of call before it’s onwards to your choice of lodging and epic tours of the national park.
8. Jasmine Garden Resort
Set in the heart of Khao Sok Village, the Jasmine Garden Resort is just 100 meters from the entrance to Khao Sok National Park itself, meaning there’s the opportunity to hike into the park at your own leisure.
There’s also a tour desk here, so you can book yourself on a tour to learn more about this big nature preserve and its important flora and fauna.
With its unfussy but modern bungalows – complete with rain showers and air conditioning – there’s also a compact outdoor pool and restaurant. One of the best things about this place, however, is its stunning views of the surrounding rainforested hills.
7. Panvaree Resort
Panvaree Resort is actually set on the shores of the vast, human-made Cheow Lan Lake (aka Ratchaprapha Lake), meaning there are stunning views to be had from here of the tranquil turquoise waters and the dense rainforests all around.
The rustic wooden villas are actually located over the water, meaning you can wake up in the morning and dive right in for a swim, or go kayaking directly from your room.
This floating option for accommodation is a remote one, but with that remoteness comes an opportunity to spy unique beauty and get a different perspective of the national park.
6. Palmview Resort
There’s a great onsite restaurant here, serving both local and international dishes. The rustic wooden cottages complete with mosquito nets and furnished verandas are located under tropical trees. And of course, there are massage services available.
Thhe Palmview Resort is a great place to stay in Khao Sok for easy access to the park. The entrance of the national park is a mere kilometer away, meaning you can get to it yourself quite easily. But then again, joining a tour from the resort itself would be a good option, too. The banks of the Sok River – running through the park – is also just a ten-minute walk from the hotel.
5. Khao Sok Jungle Hostel
Though relatively unfussy, the decor throughout Khao Sok Jungle Hostel is nevertheless utterly contemporary, polished and minimal, making for a decidedly upscale hostel experience. With dorms as well as private rooms on offer, there are contemporary shared bathrooms, as well as a terrace eating area downstairs.
For fans of convenience, there is a free shuttle service that takes guests from Khao Sok bus stop to the hostel. The entrance to Khao Sok National Park – as well as the Sok River – are just a stone’s throw from the hostel. 3. Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort
You’ll find Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort very close to the banks of the Sok River, not too far from the entrance to Khao Sok National Park. It’s a location that’s handy for getting to grips with the amazing nature and stunning scenery of the nearby area.
The bungalows here are cozy, featuring balconies where you can soak up the natural wonder that’s all around. There’s an outdoor pool here to cool off in, as well as an onsite restaurant where you can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner – as well as a drink or two in the evening.
2. Our Jungle House
A slice of eco-accommodation that’s set in 25 acres of privately owned jungle, Our Jungle House may not be as close to the entrance of Khao Sok National Park as other offerings, but it certainly provides an authentic experience.
The rooms here feel immerse you in the natural surroundings. They are wooden huts on stilts that are practically open to the elements.
If that sounds too intrepid, you could opt for a colonial style bungalow! Set on the banks of the Sok River, there’s a slice of private beach here, as well as a bar, restaurant, and even a private swimming hole.

To get the feeling of really staying in the middle of the jungle, the aptly named Khao Sok Jungle Huts Resort is a good option.
There are many different types of bungalow, from the most basic wooden affairs to upgraded options with air-conditioning and views of the nearby Sok River.
One of the coolest things about this place is that many of the huts are connected by elevated walkways, meaning you really feel like you’re living in a jungle community.
As well as a shuttle bus and elevated restaurant with jungle views serving up simple but tasty dishes, there are also tour offerings like canoeing and treks on offer.
