With over 7,000 tropical islands, the Philippines is the second largest archipelago on earth, behind neighbor Indonesia. Situated far from other popular Southeast Asia destinations it is somewhat off the beaten track. Not that the Philippines lacks great attractions. Palm fringed beaches, some of the best diving and snorkeling in Asia, stunning Volcanoes and the strange wonders of Chocolate Hills and the Banaue Rice Terraces. The largest Catholic country in Asia, the Philippines is also a country of different cultures, a mix of hundred ethnic groups and foreign influences offering a unique and amazing travel destination.

Really appreciate your response. I think I am going to venture out there. I am so very interested.
@Matahari It’s somewhere in Central Visayas, but I am not sure what island.
Can you please tell me where is One Street located. Very interested in visiting this place.
Thanks.
Hi, Gaya Island is not in the Philippines, but in Borneo.
One Street seems beautiful and unique and one of a kind. where is this located. I would like to see it on my trip there next February
thanks

I would like to update Christina’s comment above. Yes, the scenery and beaches, diving and activities are amazing. Tourism is developing very quickly indeed. Boracay beach was recently named the top beach resort in Asia by an international magazine, and the Philippines also was also ranked in the top three Globally for dive-sites by Scuba-Diving Magazine. When you factor in the common use of English the whole system becomes easier to manage for the first time visitor.
The photos are amazing. Asia has a wide range of wonderful travelling destinations. I think, after the political problems in Thailand, philipines should be the big winner!
