8 Best Places to Stay in Hue, Vietnam

Last updated on November 15, 2023 by Touropia Editors - Leave a Comment

Things to DoWhere to StayWhen to Visit

The sight of intense fighting near the former DMZ during the Vietnam War, the central Vietnamese city of Hue is famous for its history. The last Imperial Palace built in Vietnam is located in Hue, as are – on the outskirts of town – many ornate tombs of royal family members.

A trip to Hue involves wandering around ruins and learning a thing or two at museums. Being Vietnam, it also means more than just a dash of culture, with great food and exciting night markets to explore.

You won’t have a problem staying in Hue either. Accommodation here is relatively affordable across the board, so you could opt for something truly budget-friendly, or splash out a little and grab yourself a chic room at a cool hotel. With free or cheap bicycle hire on offer, pedaling around the city is a great way to see the sights, too.

8. Indochine Palace

Indochine Palace

Indochine Palace is a fitting name for this hotel because it genuinely does look like a palace. A towering white building, this is a large hotel with an equally sizeable pool outside, surrounded by palms and sun loungers.

There is a fitness center and spa for guests to use, as well as a selection of dining venues and bars. The rooms at Indochine Palace have a chic mixture of traditional Vietnamese aesthetics crossed with contemporary, design-led detailing; they also boast views looking out over the Perfume River.

Set in the city center of Hue, it’s just a 15-minute walk from here to the Perfume River and the beautiful An Dinh Palace.

7. The Scarlett Boutique Hotel

The Scarlett Boutique Hotel

This small but chic hotel is the place to stay if you love a touch of class. The interiors at The Scarlett Boutique Hotel are all about dark, wood-paneled walls with fine art adorning them, as well as classic furnishings mixed with plush carpets and draping curtains.

Rooms are traditionally decked out and feel like sumptuous places to lay your head. Amenities at the hotel include bicycle hire and a complimentary breakfast, which is a great way to start a day of exploration in Hue. The Scarlett Boutique Hotel is located only two kilometers away from the historic Imperial Palace.

Located just five minutes from the riverfront of the Perfume River, as well as the ferry terminal, the budget-friendly Rosaleen Boutique Hotel boasts an airport shuttle service as well as a handy 24-hour front desk, so the staff are available whenever you might need some help.

4. Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort

When it comes to style, this place might just be the winner of the coolest luxury hotel in Hue. Combining a strong sense of design-oriented aesthetic with lush, tropical nature, this is a rustic style hotel with a number of restaurants and bars for guests to choose from.

The outdoor pool is particularly cool, but there is also a spa with various treatments to enjoy. Guests can select from either a chic bungalow with minimalist trimmings or fun beach huts, villas and houses; some of these even have their own private pools and gardens.
